In game management was very impressive tonight. Switching formations and controlling large periods of the game.
Winchester was excellent. Again. Could turn out to be the most important player in this side this season if he keeps performing like this.

Superb stuff tonight - can't remember the last time we played a first half as well as that. We put Shels under pressure right from the start & kept it going for 90mins, & it left them clueless re how to cope. Every player across the park put a shift in tonight. Shels were left looking very mediocre.
The atmosphere was also the best it's been in a while - especially in the first half. Helped by a sizeable Shels following, who to their credit kept singing even as we ran rings around them.
I went to the Brandywell tonight with low expectations, but left with a dangerous sense of belief & hope. Pats will be a different animal, but it was great to watch a game tonight that was genuinely enjoyable throughout. Fingers crossed for Monday.
P.S. Anyone know what the attendance was? Didn't hear it being announced personally.

Delighted with the result and the performance. Credit where credit is due- thought winchester and o’reilly excellent in the middle and after we got the first goal (i thought Shels were all over us untill then) we really pushed on and took the game to them. Best first half in a long time at the brandywell. Managed the game well in the second half. Shels offered nothing in the second half up front
Certainly a bit of optimism now but lets see how we get on on Monday night

First game we've gone over 4k since we had the old jungle. Just over 4k but not been confirmed online as of yetstevebradley wrote: Sat May 03, 2025 12:57 am Superb stuff tonight - can't remember the last time we played a first half as well as that. Great performance last night. Maribor Kev text me a stat after the game that may have been missed... That was the first time we went 90 minutes without a booking since June 2024... Perhaps the referees are catching themselves on and not being the centre of attention so credit to Rob Hennessy for allowing the game to flow.
Duffy's opener came against the run of play if we're being honest but we pressed high after that and nullified anything Shels had. Boyce is a handful up front and although Sam Bone was decent for most parts he couldnt hold off the Belfast man for our 2nd. Shels probably shaded it in terms of possession over the 90 mins but TL made changes when it was needed and saw the game out. We didnt need to score in the second half and at times we used that to our advantage playing down time which frustrated Shels so much that they couldnt get a flow to their game. John Martin made a difference but even his frustration came through in the closing stages.
As said, take that form into Monday night now and we are in business... RAWA

Missed the game but super result against Shels. Pleased Boy e was returned to the starting line up. Give us more of a focus in attack. For me the clean sheet is just as welcome as 2 goals. Well done all round.

The clean sheet was important on two counts... The second reason is that it was Brians 110th consecutive league appearance equalling that of Dermot O'Neill from 30 years ago...
If he starts on Monday night against St. Pats then he will set a new record... Super Brian Maher in goal...
