Was up at the Crusaders-Caernarfon game last night. Crues were 2-0 down from the first leg, and after a poor first half were another goal down by the break. They then came out in the seocnd half a changed team and battered Caernarfon for most of it, scoring 2 quick goals after half time and bagging 3 in total. Game went to ET and penalties and they lost. Against a fairly poor Welsh team.

We need to win the tie during normal time tonight and not risk the same lottery of penalties ourselves. And we have to believe we can do it. #Believe

Much were Crussaders charging for entry?

I feel that we'll win the match and will probably go through. Going to extra time would be a poor outcome seeing as we have to play on Sunday.

I say send them home in buckets. 4-0 minimum.

I'd settle for 2nil in normal time and then do them in ET or PENS.

Played well for the first 60 minutes and then sat back, magpies were hopeless and were there for the taking. Waited too long to make subs, dummigan, patching and diallo were awful.

Saved the inevitable thrashing by copenhagen I suppose

The Ref needs investigating Diallo needs dropped and Higgins needs sacked.

Always going to be an uphill battle with only 10 men. Thought we played relatively well despite being a man down up until 65 mins. With 11 we'd likely have won it in normal time. The damage was done in the first leg though, we opened ourselves up to this possibility.

Utter shambles.

We were one up and creating chances with Hoban playing up top. Had we kept 11 men on the field it's reasonable to think we'd have got another one or two. Once we went to 10, playing 2 strikers was unrealistic.

We certainly should be worried about Sunday. Pats with a good rest period and we're coming off the back of extra time with 10. Things could go from bad to worse quickly

Weren't good enough over two legs and deservedly went out, regardless of the ref's performance.

Whatever about the second yellow, the first yellow came from a brutal throw in in their half from Ben Doherty. Sean Hargan called it a hospital throw.

Diallo looked completely off the pace when on or uninterested. Even if he doesn't have as much ability, I don't think someone like Harkin would have played with that sort of lack of urgency if on.

Players were flagging having played so long with 10 men but I'm not sure I understood the two centre half substitutions.

Can we get any type of update on Boyce and Harkin ? There is no-one can tell me that both are miles better as a right back than Daniel Kelly

Or is it too mnich to ask yet again.

Over the two legs we have been a shambles, but this has been on the cards for a while.

Openly admitting he was not going to throw the sink at them for the first 20 minutes - when most managers in world football would have put 2 up front and absolutely went for the early goal, instead we wasted twenty minutes.

Fitness levels are all questionable as after 62 minutes last night we blew up; Duffy, Connolly, Hoban, Dummigan, McMullan, Diallo and Patching - all do not look as if they have 90 minutes in them at any level.

An absolutely shambolic debacle over two legs - but this has been on the cards for quite some time.

The manager has got away with far too much for far too long, and there is clearly a media protection of him, as any criticism of him is always swiftly met with 'keyboard warriors / armchair managers' by the various people who clearly have some roles within the club yet go onto podcasts, chat groups etc as 'neutral fans' when they are not.

For a completely neutral stance, go to The Between The Stripes podcast on the LOI. Great podcast and totally 100% neutral - their take is that Derry have been a joke this year, the most boring team ever, with no desire or bravery from either the players or the manager. They are adamant that we will not win the league, or even put Shels under any pressure at all, they also predicted that we would go out of Europe in the first round as we have zero passion, that we have a totally suspect centre half partnership with no pace who will be found out by any team with brains and pace, and that most of our games are dull, lifeless affairs with endless sideways and backwards passing.

To be fair they are 100% on the mony.

To be honest the manager's pre match comments talking about being patient and waiting until the 90th or 95th minute if necessary didn't inspire confidence. Once again the manager displayed his unwillingness to start a game with two up front. Once again in order to accommodate Kelly (who put in one decent cross all night) Mc Mullan is sacrificed to become a square peg in a round hole. Let's not allow the sending off or the very poor refereeing to disguise the fact that this tie was lost in Gibraltar due to the manager's poor team selection, formation and tactics. Until fatigue kicked in on the Derry players we saw how poor the Magpies were.

Irrespective of Sunday's cup result the manager should go after the St Pat's game. If Padddy Mc Laughlin isn't available then let Paul Hegarty take the team through to the end of the season.
