I like the ambition of his words but I think the reality is going to he much different. From what I have seen, I don't think we have the ability to 'impose our game' on too many teams in this league. We're not set up to 'impose', we're not keeping possession for large spells in the opponents half, putting them under sustained pressure.
I'm expecting another game of 5 at the back, Rovers to have most of the ball while we attempt to play on the break. I have a feeling that our forward is going to be quite isolated at times.
I'm thinking a Rovers win unfortunately.

2 yellows in the first 15 minutes. We have a problem and we're not learning. Winchester in such an important position too

2 yellows which weren't yellows. Same sort of tackles from rovers unpunished. Once certain players get booked it affects our game as they then can't make tackles. Boyce was booked for winning the ball

Unfortunately for us, the cream always rises to the top.
Rovers will win the league comfortably.
However, we competed well & that’s all we can ever ask. We have work to do & require more quality. Maher poor.

Rovers know how to win without playing great. The work rate was there for the first 30 minutes but the game went very flat after that.
Ferguson was poor, duffy and o reilly were very quiet all game. Hopefully doherty and ronan Boyce will be back to full fitness soon.
Ps mceneffs a rat, fairly milked that celebration

Would have been good to have Wisdom solidify the defence tonight. Hopefully he'll be back in the transfer window.

Lopes screamed down in Tallaght to get Mullen a yellow and did the same against Boyce here.
Ferguson out of position so it was going to be tough.
It was a great first goal but I thought the equaliser was poor from Derry. Should have cleared it earlier and reactions were poor.
I thought the game was even enough but Rovers experience came through.

Aaron McEneff celebration tonight reminded me of the quote from the great irish boxing trainer Brendan Ingle, " Fame and glory is just a twinkle in the eye, be kind to those on your way up because you’ll meet them again on your way down."

We battled and worked very hard, but if honest the best team won.
They are slick, move the ball quickly and generally dictate the game. But we gave them a good game.
They will canter to the league title. They have a fantastic bench.
Am I the only one who thinks that Maher could be given a rest to try to get him kick started a bit? He's miles behind the keeper he has been for us previously.

We have a game in hand, which would bring it back to 5 points if won - but I fancy Rovers to power ahead now. Plenty still to play for nonetheless because the European teams will drop points when the games stack up.
Our record v Rovers remains very poor holistically.
In regards to McEneff, he clearly over done it & could’ve been classier. I’ve no idea why he acts like a Charlie, he always did - but suits Rovers down to the ground, he’s a Rovers kind of player. I think on reflection he will know that himself, but it’s a game of emotions - he has resentment towards our support for whatever reason. Nobody died - we move on.

Problem is, duno how good or bad a 2nd choice keeper doherty is. He wasn't really a lynch signing. One player could do with been dropped is duffy. Been well off it this last few weeks. May need a rest

What a prick McEneff is. I don't give a toss if he was getting stick before he came on, he should have had a bit more class than to celebrate like that, former captain and a local lad.

That's the level we have to aim for.
They were excellent in the 2nd half, more or less controlled the game, with us scoring a goal against the run of play.

Couldn't agree more.
As for McEneff I wouldn't waste my time on anybody who hails from Derry and behaves like that. A bigger person would have went to 'his own' fans and celebrated with them. He needs to mature as a player. Obviously only good enough for the Rovers bench.
