Looks like RTE are set to lose the rights to Virgin Media with Virgin prepared to show 36 games per season (1 game per week). Think for the first time in years clubs will benefit financially from being shown on TV

Re: TV Deal
I wonder will they change the day of the televised game so that it doesn't clash with other games.

Re: TV Deal
Daily Mirror has a write uo today quoting Mark Scanlon regarding the FAI Cup rights. He has invited RTE to bid for the competition tv rights but wants the successful bidder to televise at least one game per round. Personally I think it is strange that unless a big clash happens in the quater finals, RTE only ever televised the semi finals and final. We had a 2nd game v St. Pat's last season that drew no interest and if we go through previous years I am sure we could find other games that were broadcast online. Last season I think they only took up the option of our QF because it was $h£l$ and in 2022 came up to the Brandywell for the Rovers game because of the interest around the country of their European run, married with the fact they were not able to televise those European games. If the VM deal proves anything, its that we need mainstream exposure to grow the league further.
