$h€l$ v Derry City Match Thread

Post by TenaciousDee »

For those looking for tickets, here is the link https://shelbournefc.ie/away-tickets-xb ... redirect=1

As ever this is the thread for pre-, match and post match discussions. Discuss news, plans, action and post your reactions after the games.

This game will be live on Virgin Media 2 (I think, will edit when confirmed), BBC Radio Foyle and Drive 105.

Big test for us on Friday. Shels were impressive on Friday. Few places up for grabs. I'd take a draw now

Bookies have us favorites which i’m surprised about.

Then again Shels are awful.

I am shocked we didn't get a decent centre half in. Think we'll be strong enough elsewhere - hopefully have a team that gets us excited again and actually win.

I can't see us getting beat TBH on Friday but will go with a 1 nil win.

We need to get at least one centre half in this week. If anything happens to Connolly or Todd we're in trouble.

Packie Cooke spoke to Tiarnan Lynch yesterday ahead of tomorrow's game.

Thanks - there's a few on another forum not too complimentary about him after his time with Drogs and Dundalk...but let's see how he goes.

We have a fella based in Dundalk who does bits and pieces for our coverage and he said he was willing to drive his belongings up personally.

I believe we can go down and get the win. 3 out of 4 games last season we were the better side. First game anything can happen. Looking forward to it!

Join us tomorrow night on Drive 105's Match Night Live from 7pm. Paul Doherty is in studio to introduce the programme and play a few songs. I will present the Countdown to Kick Off. During that time Packie Cooke speaks to Tiarnan Lynch, Tom O'Connor provides an analysis on the opposition and I interview Carl Winchester. There is also a sample of my Derry Nostalgic interview with Barry McCreadie.

Commentary from Tolka Park is by Michael Kealey. I hope you join us on 105.3FM, Online or on DAB Radio.

Benson, Mullen and Dummigan will miss this one.
Whyte, Hoban and Doherty all touch and go.

Oh dear, what are we watching. Defence looks a disaster.

Sam Todd x2.

He was woeful here last season too which ended in an early bath.

Both goals with an element of luck in them but can't help but feel Todd could have done better.

Ask any fan and they’ll tell you we’re light at the back, we’ve never replaced our CB with a worthy replacement. Last year Shane stepped in and was a disaster and this year Todd looks like he could be exposed. No point having big box office forwards when you can’t defend.

Well that couldn't have gone much worse!

Maher really should be keeping that out, he'll be disappointed.
