St. Patrick's Athletic v Derry City Match Thread
Game on Monday evening could prove to be a real test and a barometer to demonstrate how much the side has learned following the opening day defeat.

Given how inept they were at double weekends in recent years, hopefully they will be better at them this year.

Another defeat on Monday will be a terrible start. Hopefully the fact that it's on a real pitch might help us play better.

100%. Playing on grass will be like a different sport.Keyser Soze wrote: Sat Mar 01, 2025 12:09 am Another defeat on Monday will be a terrible start. Hopefully the fact that it's on a real pitch might help us play better.
Really sad and short sighted to see some teams in the First division ripping out their grass pitches for the plastic.

In every match we've played this season both teams have had to play on the same pitch

Connolly is looking like a real weak link this season.
His complete lack of pace is leaving him in difficult situations.
He should be benched at half time, cos he'll get sent off yet.
Apart from that, not offering much again tonight.

Refs again. Never a pen and never a red. And pen for Derry again turned down

I know the refs in the loi are poor but these first four games have been dodgy. The refs can't get the cards out quick enough for us. Constant yellows and tonight a joke red card.
