Listened to TL's interview with Simon Collins after the Galway game (available on 'Talking Derry City').

He evidently places a very strong emphasis on 'data': 60% posession, xG 2.92, 14 shots, 5 on target v Galway. Law of averages, you'd feel if we maintain that level of dominance, it's a matter of time. However, our efficiency & cutting edge with such dominance must improve - hopefully that's on Saturday v Sligo.

It was also suggested on said podcast that the new stand could be looking good for the Cork game. Here's hoping - not sure if possible, but they should try get the test events done beforehand so that it's full, akin to what Everton did a few weeks ago with supporters.

One of those shots on target was a penalty and those are worth between 0.75 - 0.85 depending on the model being used.

I do agree with him that if we maintain that, games will start to go our way. My concern is the lack of high quality chances that we are creating (from the eye test). RH could probably have pointed to xG but the reality on the pitch was different.

I can't disagree with that, very true in relation to RH & last season.

On a side note... Dee usually starts the match threads... So far from his opening 5 threads we have won 1, drew 1 and lost 3...

He'll not be happy at someone else starting a match thread but if we win, I know who I want starting them in future

Do I have to pull out the "Why Always Me" photo for a second time this week?

Unsure if I agree with him that we are creating lots of chances and deserve to win games?

Think we can't complain too much with results given the performances.

I'm sure you, like the rest of us, have seen chances be at a premium. I think the only game which was a bit "unfair" was the two penalty awards....but still wouldn't say Derry deserved to win it.

Sligo always play on a Saturday night, unless they have a Monday fixture.

A win tonight and we are "sort of " back on track, not a million miles behind. A defeat and we are absolutely "fxxxxd" Go City, we can do this.

No Patrick McEleney on the bench - clash with the Ballymena game today.
